Lottery Singapore

Lottery Singapore is the country’s own lottery brand under Singapore Pools. It offers a wide range of games including Toto and Singapore Sweep.

It’s a regulated lottery which means it is run by Singapore Pools, the only legal lottery operator in the country. In addition to lottery, Singapore Pools also runs horse races and sports betting.

In terms of the amount of money spent on betting, it has increased dramatically. In the 2021/22 financial year, it has soared to $9.2bn, which is the biggest increase in bets on these activities in the last ten years.

The increase in spending on these activities is attributed to the easing of COVID restrictions in the 2021/22 financial year. It is believed that this has led to a “dramatic surge” in the amount of bets placed on Singapore lottery and sports betting.

This is a major problem because it’s causing a huge increase in the number of people who are gambling excessively, which can lead to severe addiction and mental illness. The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) has said that they are working closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Gambling Regulatory Authority to monitor and address this situation.

The Ministry has also launched an online tool to help families identify their loved ones who are struggling with gambling behaviour, as well as a family exclusion order that can be issued to suspend them from betting on the internet. It is also possible for a family member to apply to the National Council on Problem Gambling’s helpline or Webchat to discuss options for treatment.
